Talk to your grandparents about how they saved money when they were young and didn't have credit available... which may have been during the Great Depression. My grandmother got me budgeting and shopping for food on a quarterly basis instead of a monthly basis about this time last year, told me to "pay my savings account first" (save a certain amount every month no matter what), and avoid spending money on luxuries (like satellite TV, a Nintendo Wii, and movies out.)

Bill - I really enjoy the photos you have on this site. Good luck with your WordPress consulting - you'll need to figure out how to break into the top tier of corporate clients to make this a sustainable business. As for surviving a recession like a startup - it's all about how efficient a startup is in its early stages. Nothing is more efficient and innovative than a startup in its early life.
